A third version of our canvas bag? Totes magotes

Now with hunter green handles.

A trip to the grocery store without my reusable tote bags is like a day without sunshine. I feel like I’ve let society down when I forget them and have to use disposable plastic bags.

Stay has offered an American-made Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful tote bag for much of its existence, and I’m proud to introduce version 3.0.

It’s custom made for us by Enviro-Tote, a woman- and family-owned company in Londonderry, N.H., that has been creating environmentally friendly tote bags since 1990.

The bag features heavyweight 15-ounce organic cotton and measures 18 inches wide and 17.5 inches high with a 7-inch-wide base.

Like its predecessors, the new bag features our popular Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful logo on one side. For the first time, the bag has hunter green handles, matching the logo color and giving it a premium feel.

Our original bag, an off-the-shelf version, was smaller and made of lighter canvas, while the second, custom version was more robust and combined canvas and cordura nylon.

At $30, version 3.0 approximately splits the difference between the first two versions. It’s a little bigger than the original, including longer handles that make it easier to carry over a shoulder.

Our initial order is for 50 bags.

Forty-nine will be sold. I’m snagging one for myself. I’ll do my best to have it with me when I go to the grocery store.
