Three Mile Island Ringer Tee
Please note that sizes XL and 2XL will ship beginning May 24.
At 4 a.m. on March 28, 1979, Three Mile Island’s Unit 2 nuclear reactor near Harrisburg, Pa., shut down as the result of a mechanical or electrical failure in its turbine.
The partial core meltdown remains America’s worst nuclear accident while having been immortalized on one of the greatest rock albums in history.
England’s The Clash references TMI’s “nuclear error” on the title track, “London Calling,” and “waiting to be melted down” on the song “Clamdown.” The double album came out within a year of the disaster.
While Unit 2 never resumed operation, the Unit 1 reactor continued until closing in 2019. Owner Constellation Energy, with a 20-year purchase agreement from Microsoft, hopes to reopen Unit 1 in 2028.
Made from lightweight 4-ounce 50% polyester, 37% cotton & 13% rayon fabric. Screen printed in Lancaster, Pa.
Shirt sizes are unisex unless otherwise indicated; view our size chart to find your best fit.
